Rooted on Lopez
Our story
Our 1/4-acre farm is tucked into the south end of Lopez Island, Washington. The small scale lets us grow with the tender care of a kitchen garden — and yes, there is always a pea patch and crunchy carrots among the blooms.
We practice regenerative farming: cover crops, mulch, compost tea, crop rotations, and minimal till. Irrigation comes from rainwater catchment so we stay light on the island’s fragile water table.
Market bouquet or bridal bouquet — our arrangements are full of flowers, foliage, grasses, and fruit that honor the season while testing its edges.

Alaya Battalia
Born to stubbornly self-sufficient Lopez Island, Alaya feels most fulfilled with her hands in the dirt. After her first baby arrived at the start of the pandemic, she left her social work office job — growing and sharing flowers became the answer.
Zoë Gregozek
Raised gardening in Santa Cruz, Zoë gravitated to sustainable agriculture and food sovereignty. She and Alaya first worked together in 2020 growing produce for Lopez schools and the food bank — and now bring whimsically elegant blooms to you.
